Elinor K. Hirschy, 72, of Decatur, died at 7 p.m. Tuesday in Lutheran Hospital at Fort Wayne.
She was born in Dayton, Ohio on April 4, 1938 to John and Thelma Hileman Bilderback. Her father is deceased, but her mother, now Thelma Kitson, lives in Decatur.
She married Robert E. Hirschy on May 18, 1957 and he passed away on June 1, 2000.
She was employed for 28 years at the former Decatur Bank and Trust Co., until retiring in 2003.
She also attended Decatur Church of God and enjoyed bowling, golf, and traveling. She was involved in the His and Her Bowling League and several women's bowling leagues and was a member of the Adams County Women's Bowling Hall of Fame.
Other survivors are one daughter, Mrs. Tony (Jeanene) LaFontaine of Decatur; three sons: Mike Hirschy (and wife Penny) of Decatur; Bob Hirschy (and wife Jean) of Yoder, Indiana; and John Hirschy (and wife Angelic) of Fort Wayne; two brothers: John Bilderback of Akron, Ohio and James Bilderback (and wife Becky) of Dubois, Indiana; two sisters: Mrs. Larry (Rose) Bolinger of Kissimmee, Florida and Mrs. Lisle (Mary) Knittle of Decatur; two stepsisters; 10 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Her stepfather, Frank Kitson, and two stepbrothers are deceased.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in Decatur Church of God, 1129 Mercer Ave., with Pastor Jerry Mitchel officiating.
Burial will be in Decatur Cemetery.
Visiting hours will be from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday in Decatur Church of God.
Preferred memorials are to the American Red Cross or to Decatur Church of God.
