Kenneth Dwight Crane Sr., 74, of Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, died Sunday, November 7, 2010, at Chambersburg Hospital.
Born on May 4, 1936, in Akron, Ohio, he was the son of the late Dwight and Margaret Crosby Crane.
He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the U. S. Marine Corps.
He was employed as a corporate pilot with DuPont, Inc. for 15 years. While working at DuPont, he acquired his ATR rating and accumulated 15 million miles of accident-free flying.
He also owned and operated The Blind Store in Houston, Texas.
He was a member of Salem Reformed Church in Hagerstown and the Pilots QB and was a former member of the Rotary Club of Houston, Texas.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, C. LaRue Crane; two daughters, Debbie Eichelberger of Decatur and Margo Terry of Akron, Ohio; two sons, James Robert Crane and his wife, Michele, of Pueblo, Colorado, and Kenneth Dwight Crane, Jr. of Akron, Ohio; one brother, Keith Crane of North Canton, Ohio; two grandchildren, Bradley and Becki Eichelberger of Decatur; two stepgrandchildren; and two stepgreat-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday in Salem Reformed Church of Hagerstown, Maryland. Rev. Steve Wagoner will officiate.
Burial will be in Salem Reformed Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Thursday at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 East Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown, Maryland, from 7-9 p.m. and one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday.
