Zurcher changing names, hosting events

April 30, 2012

Zurcher Tire, Inc. of Monroe has announced that as of next Tuesday, May 1, its name will be Zurcher’s Best-One Tire & Auto Care.
"Customers can still expect the same great people, values, service and prices that they have come to rely on from this local Monroe business over the years," a news release saide. "Founder and president Paul Zurcher values the business’s connection to the community."
The news release said that for the past 64 years, "Zurcher Tire has been privileged to be an active partner to many organizations, charities, and benefits in our community.  We are grateful for the relationships that have evolved through these experiences, as well as those established by serving our community’s tire and automotive needs. We feel fortunate to have the honor of calling many of you both our customers and friends.”
To celebrate the name change and the fact that Zurcher’s Best-One belongs to the Best-One Tire and Service® Group — with the buying power of over 250 locations — the business has designated the remainder of 2012 as a year of celebration.  Customers are invited to join the celebration by “changing a cap” and “changing a life” through Best-One’s Caps 4 a Cause program.
Caps 4 A Cause is a line of pre-packaged, universal tire valve stem caps that benefit worthy causes.  “We are excited to support and raise awareness for these important causes” announced Operations Manager Lindsey Beer.
Caps come in three different colors and retail for $5. All net profits from the sale of each set of caps benefit the selected charity.
Pink caps benefit the Vera Bradley Foundation for Breast Cancer and yellow caps support the US Wounded Soldiers Foundation.
“Additionally, each month, we’ll be selling blue colored valve stem caps to support different deserving charities in and around Adams County," Beer said.
During the month of May, all proceeds from the sales of blue caps will benefit Riley Hospital for Children.
According to Beer, “It’s never been easier to support charity. Simply visit Zurcher’s Best-One and select your color. Then, unscrew your old caps and replace them with these new, colorful, and stylish caps."
The kickoff event is a 5K walk-a-thon for Riley Hospital at the Adams Central School track and football field on Saturday, May 19, from 1 to 4 p.m.
Walkers are asked to raise at least $10 in order to participate and all proceeds will go to Riley Hospital for Children.  Beer encourages all ages to participate in the walk-a-thon.
“We know so many area families who have been touched by the amazing people at Riley Hospital, so we want to open this event up to everyone.  Any age can participate — even if they are riding in a stroller!”
In addition to the walk-a-thon, there will be activities for all ages, including the “Kick 4 A Cause” football punt contest, prizes, free food, live music, “Riley Family” testimonials, and more.  The “Kick 4 a Cause” contest will feature a $500 grand prize and participants will take home a Bridgestone football (while supplies last).
Anyone interested in registering for the 5k or finding out more about this event should contact Zurcher’s Best-One in Monroe for details; call (260) 692-6171, or go to caps4acause@yahoo.com.
