Plans for work on the new physician's office building being constructed by the Adams Health Network (AHN) adjacent to the Adams Memorial Hospital were discussed at the monthly meeting of the AHN board of trustees.
Officials said foundation work will be started within a month or so and after that is done, work packages will be bid out to get as many local contractors as possible involved with the project.
AHN Executive Director Marvin L. Baird said plans now call for half of the building to be finished this year and the other half to be finished within the next two years. Work for 2011 is scheduled to complete a suite for the Decatur Family Practice group and another suite is for a specialty physician.
The total building will be 13,500 square feet in size and the project carries a price tag of $2.5 million. Office space being finished this year will be approximately 7,500 square feet.
Kyle Wittwer of the Wittwer Construction Company of Fort Wayne serves as the construction manager of the project.
No board changes
The status quo was kept intact for the Adams Health Network board when it met for their regular monthly meeting at the hospital.
In a board reorganization, the three current officers, chairman Dr. Robert J. Judge, vice chairman Russ Flueckiger, and secretary Dennis Bieberich, were all unanimously renominated and namd.
Also remaining in their current posts are legal counsel Adam Miller, hospital treasurer Dane Wheeler, and assistant treasurer Linda Gorman.
The other two board members are Larry D. Macklin and Louise Ray.
Ray and Bieberich were also recently reappointed to a new four-year term on the hospital board and were sworn in by Miller.
