Woodcrest earns high marks

August 12, 2013

According to information recently provided to the Adams Health Network (AHN) Board of Trustees, the Woodcrest Nursing Home received "its best State Board of Health Survey in memory," according to AHN vice president for long-term services Bill Watson.
Health care facilities throughout the state are surveyed annually by the Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH) on a wide variety of issues ranging from nursing care to dietary concerns to patient rights and much more.
Watson told a recent AHN Board of Trustees meeting that Woodcrest has soared in the past two years in improvement, going from 18 violations two years ago to eight tags last year and only two this year, according to a preliminary report received after the most recent ISDH inspection. Both "tags," as Watson referred to the violations, were minor in nature and he emphasized that both nursing care and dietary services had a spotless record.
