Kyle Witter drove a fastball over the left fielder's head with two on in the top of the eighth inning, then he raced around the bases before McIntire could make a play at the plate as Erie Haven handed McIntire it's first loss in 11 Koufax games this summer, 9-6. Erie Haven improved to 8-0 with the victory.
Wittwer had two hits, including his key inside-the-park homer while Brett Baker also stroke an inside-the-park home run for Erie Haven. Ryan Okoniewski, the winning pitcher, and Carter Friedt lashed a pair of hits for the Mixers. Jordan Hilyard doubled among two hits.
Okoniewski struck out eight in four innings,, walking none and yielding only one run to earn the key victory. Hilyard fanned six and walked 4, yielding 5 runs in the first four innings for Erie Haven.
Patrick McBarnes took the loss as he hurled the final three innings for McIntire. Parker Zeser was the starting pitcher.
After Erie Haven took the lead on Wittwer's homer, Okoniewski got the final three McIntire hitters in order to preserve the win.
Josh Brune slugged three hits with a double for McIntire while Tony Busse and Zeser both had two hits.
