Wilma "Jean" Grote

    Wilma "Jean" Grote, 76, of Decatur, passed away on Wednesday, September 5, 2012, in the Adams Memorial Hospital Emergency Room.
    She was born on Saturday, November 9, 1935, in Allen County, to the late Paul E. and Mabel M. (McBride) Reppert.
    On February 14, 1998, she married Gerald Grote; he survives in Decatur.
    Jean was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and the Union Township Lions Club. She was also a previous member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Coldwater, Ohio, and the VFW in Van Wert, Ohio. She served as trustee for Indiana Lions Cancer Control.
    She had worked at Kids First Daycare at the United Methodist Church in Decatur and had previously worked at Coldwater Community Hospital for 17 years.
    Among survivors are her sons, Tom (Susan) Krueckeberg of Decatur; Barry (Edith) Krueckeberg of Hoagland; Jeff (Lydia) Krueckeberg of Akeley, Minn.; stepson, Fred (Jackie) Grote of Fort Wayne; stepdaughters, Mary (Rick) Huss of Decatur; Penny (David) Saunders of Decatur; Tina (Barry) Fairchild of Decatur; foster son, Gary (Deb) Marbach of Decatur; a daughter-in-law, Vicki (Krueckeberg) Hess; 24 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.
    She was preceded in death by a son, Kent Krueckeberg; two brothers, Richard and Jack Reppert; and one grandchild, Catie Huss.
    Visitation will be from 2-4 and 5-8 p.m. on Friday, September 7, at Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, and one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday.
    Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, September 8,  at Immanuel Lutheran Church, with Pastor David Koeneman officiating.
    Burial will follow in the Immanuel Lutheran cemetery.
    Preferred memorials are to Immanuel Lutheran Church or Indiana Lions Cancer Control.
