William M. Schaadt

    William M. "Bill" Schaadt, 72, Chattanooga, Ohio, passed away as a result of cancer on Saturday June 1, 2013, at his home.
    Bill was born to the late Victor and Luella (Affolder) Schaadt on August 15, 1940, in Mercer County, Ohio.
    He married Judy Ousley on Septembr 23, 1964, in Berne; she preceded him in death. He later married LaDonna McCullough Case on April 23, 1977; she survives.
    Bill retired from International Harvester in 2000 and worked for Berne Furniture for an additional seven years. He also served in the National Guard and enjoyed farming throughout his life. He was baptized in the Bethel Brethren Church in Berne and attended The Bridge Church in Decatur. He enjoyed woodworking and collecting "Case" and "Purina" pocket knives.
    Among survivors are his daughter, Tracy (David) O'Dell of Columbus, Ind.; stepson, Eric (Sunni) Case of Eaton, Ind.; two brothers, Ralph (Ginny) Schaadt of Bluffton and John (Cathy) Schaadt of Decatur; six grandchildren; and numerous nephews and nieces.    Bill was preceded in death by his parents-in-law, James and Ella McCullough.
    Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 5, at MRE Cemetery in Berne for family and friends. Officiating will be Pastor Mo Hodge.
