Wilder hurls no-hitter

July 18, 2012

Beka Wilder of Minds Eye Graphics pitched a no-hitter against First Bank of Berne on Monday evening during a senior league game at Hannah Nuttman as the squad topped Bank, 8-0.
The only blemish on the hurler for the night was seven issued walks to Bank batters but timely K's made up for the free passes as she ended up with nine strikeouts in the game as Mind's Eye coasted to another victory.
Mind's Eye started the game with a run in the first inning but the score held until the fifth when they scored five more to break the game open at 6-0. They would get two more insurance runs in the seventh but Wilder's performance made the runs unnecessary.
Erika Schaden pitched a complete game as well for Bank going seven innings and allowing eight runs on seven hits with seven K's and a pair of walks.
Wilder also led the charge with the bat netting three hits with a pair of runs. Nickole Schevenius had a hit with three runs, while Megan Tracey, Jessica Walther, and Erica Franze each had a hit in the game for Mind's Eye.
