Wilbur F. Selking

    Wilbur F. Selking, 91, of Decatur, passed away at 12:05 a.m. Wednesday, April 25, 2012, at Ossian Health Care.
    He was born January 25, 1921, in Adams County, to the late Martin and Maria (Ehlerding) Selking.
    He married Martha C. Franke, from Wells County, on January 31, 1942, at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church rural Ossian; she passed away on February 2, 2001.
    Wilbur was a lifetime member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church, Preble; a member of the church choir and former member of the Couples Club of the church. He held several church offices, including church expansion chairman in 1989.     
    Wilbur was secretary treasurer of A.A. L. Branch 1514 for 26 years, Farm Bureau board committee for many years, and a former 4-H leader. He was also a former member of the Decatur Rotary Club, a member of the Sons of the American Legion Post 43 in Decatur, and Wilbur was an Adams County Councilman from 1976-1980.
    Wilbur retired from International Harvester in 1974, and he retired from farming in 1995.
    Among survivors are two sons, Ronald (Carol) Selking of Decatur and Kenneth (Pendy) Selking of Decatur; daughter, Barbara Oliver of Decatur; sister, Eileen Hintz of Carmel; seven grandchildren, Darrin Selking, Angela Selking, Shelley Moorman, Troy Oliver, Mandy Harkless, Aimee Selking; one step-grandson, Cristian Matson; 16 great-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; and one step-great-great-grandchild.
    Visitation will be Thursday, April 26, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., at Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home, and one hour prior to services on Friday.
    Services will be Friday, April 27, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Preble, at 2 p.m. Rev Dr. Daniel Brege will be officiating.
    Burial will be in the St. Paul Lutheran Church Cemetery.
