Data Processing Director Landon Patterson last week made another attempt at convincing the Adams County Council to consider an updated and interactive website, but was more brusquely dismissed than he was when he appeared before the council with a similar request last month.
Patterson noted he had since spoken with Tom Magnan, director of the Golden Meadows Home, who had expressed improving the site to allow him to post job openings and descriptions, offer applications online, perform fund-raising and auctions, list a mission statement, historical facts and contact information.
“We need consistency in our website across the board,” Patterson commented, adding he would like to get a new website project started as soon as possible. Council, however, rebuffed his request, with Council President Randy Colclasure asking rhetorically if “aspects of a new website justify the cost.” He then answered his own question by stating he “like(d) the idea, but the cost is holding me back.”
