Warren J. Gidley, 80, passed away Friday, September 6, 2013 at Lutheran Hospital with his loving family at his side.
Warren was born in Fort Wayne.
He worked in sales with Fort Wayne Engraving for 35 years, retiring in 1995. He was a U.S. Army Korean WAr veteran and member of American Legion Post 296 and VFW Decatur Post 6236.
Warren loved the lake and spending time with his grandchildren and attending their sporting events. He was their No. 1 fan.
Among survivors are his wife, Barbara Gidley of Fort Wayne; daughter, Jane A. (Jeff) Hans; two sons, Steven J. (Laura) Gidley and Mark A. (Jennifer) Gidley, all of Fort Wayne; stepson, Michael (Sandra) Osterman of Rogers, Ariz.; 11grandchildren; 3 stepgrandchildren; one great grandchild; and three stepgreatgrandchildren.
Warren was proceeded in death by his parents, Wilbur and Millie C. Gidley; his first wife, Nita M. Gidley; stepdaughter, Michel Andrews; two brothers, Wilbur Gidley and Kenton Gidley.
Calling will be from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday and one hour prior to the service.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, September 12, 2013 at D.O. McComb and Sons Covington Knolls Funeral Home, 8325 Covington Road.
Burial will be at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Fort Wayne.
