Walter I. Brodbeck

    Walter I. "Ike" Brodbeck, 91, Decatur, passed away Saturday, Oct. 19, 2013, at Woodcrest Nursing Center.
    He was born on March 18, 1922, in Adams County to the late Clarence and Cora (Shell) Brodbeck.
    Walter worked for the city of Decatur for 10 years before retiring in 1987. He also drove a truck for Farm Bureau for 18 years. Ike was a member of Cornerstone Community Church.
    He is survived by three step-children, Karen (Richard) Kraner of Ohio, Richard (Karen) Fishers of Decatur and Jerry (Vicki) Fisher of Fort Wayne; eight grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
    He was the youngest of eight children all preceding him in death, four brothers, Chester, Roy, Marion and John; three sisters, Thelma, Mildred and Fannie; also preceding him in death are his first wife, Della and second wife, Ida in 2010.
    Visitation will be from 12-2 p.m. on Tuesday at Haggard Sefton and Hirschy Funeral Home.
    Funeral services will follow also at the funeral home with Rev. Kenneth Hogg officiating.
    Burial will be at Decatur Cemetery.
    Preferred memorials are to Cornerstone Community Church.
