Virginia M. Raudenbush

    Virginia M. Raudenbush, 89, of Decatur, passed away at 11:10 a.m. on Saturday, January 26, 2013, at Adams Memorial Extended Care.
    She was born on June 6, 1923, in Saybrook, Ill., to the late Leroy M. and Anna M. (Blum) Taylor.
    Virginia married James Harvey on February 9, 1944; he preceded her in death in June of 1952.
    She was a member of St. Mark’s United Methodist Church. She also was a member of the G.E. Code Club and G.E. Retired Ladies. She volunteered at Adams Memorial Hospital for 17 years and also for the Red Cross. Virginia worked as a homemaker and also at General Electric in Decatur for 42 years.
    Among survivors are a daughter, Gloria Harvey of Decatur, and brother, Melvin (Mary) Taylor of Greenville, Mich.
    Virginia was preceded in death by two brothers, Willis Taylor and Rev. Mervin E. Taylor; a sister, Phyllis Medaugh; and a nephew, Lamar Taylor.
    Visitation will be from 3- 7 p.m. on Tuesday, January 29, at Haggard-Sefton & Hirschy Funeral Home, and from 10-11 a.m. on Wednesday, January 30, at St. Mark's United Methodist Church.
    Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday at the church. Officiating will be Rev. Michael Heinbaugh.
    Burial will follow at Decatur Cemetery.
    Preferred memorials are to St. Mark’s United Methodist Church.
