Virgil McClurg

    Virgil "Mac" McClurg, 75, of Decatur, died on Thursday, November 4, 2010, at Adams Memorial Hospital in Decatur.
     Mr. McClurg was born in Rush County, Indiana, on March 27, 1935 to Joseph Murphy McClurg and Viney (Griffin) McClurg.
          Mac honorably served his country in the United States Air Force from February 3, 1955, to February 2, 1963.
      Mr. McClurg worked at two Decatur firms, Wayne Novelty and Mobile Medical, from which he retired in 1997. He later worked part-time at Two Brothers restaurant in Decatur until his health failed.
     Mac was a member of American Legion Post 43 in Decatur and Hannagan Christian Church in Rush County.
     Surviving are two sons, Scott Joseph McClurg of Bluffton and James Edward McClurg of Fort Wayne; three grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Wayne (Pat) Hill of New Palestine, Indiana; and five stepchildren, Rusty, Randy, Julie, Robbie, and Mike Shinabery.
    He was preceded in death by his parents, three infant children, eight brothers, two sisters and one half-brother.
    There will be no visitation or services at this time.
    Preferred memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 111 E. Ludwig Rd., No. 105, Fort Wayne, Indiana, 46825.
    Funeral arrangements were by Northern Indiana Funeral Care of Fort Wayne.
