Viola I. Miller

    Viola I. Miller, 85, Goshen, formerly of Berne, passed away on Sunday, December 2, 2012, at Greencroft Health Center, Goshen.
    She was born to Ray and Hattie (Gibson) Steele on February 21, 1927.
    Viola married Chalmer Miller on June 2, 1946, in Adams County.
    She was a homemaker and worked in the office at Knipe Springs in Rome City, Ind. She was a member of a Bible Study Group and enjoyed baking and cooking.    Viola especially enjoyed her family, including her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
    Among survivors are a daughter, Judy (John) Bontrager of Goshen; a sister, Helen Emenheiser of Decatur; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
    She was preceded in death by her husband, Chalmer; son, James C. Miller; sister, Eleanor Shoaf; and brother, Doyle Steele.
    Visitation will be from 3-8 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 5, at Yager-Kirchhofer Funeral Home.
    Funeral services are at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 6, also at the funeral home.
    Pastor Dee Schwartz will be officiating.
    Burial will be in Springhill Cemetery, rural Berne.
    Preferred memorials are to the Greencroft Health Center, Goshen.
