Viola Dennison, 95, of Berne, passed away Monday, February 25, 2013, at Swiss Village.
She was born on November 25, 1917, to the late Daniel and Barbara (Liechty) Habegger in Adams County.
She married Claude Dennison on November 10, 1945; he preceded her in death.
Viola was a member of the Cross Community Church, where she played the organ for 41 years, and a member of the Dorcas Circle. She was a 4-H leader and a member of the "Good Neighbors" Homemaker Club. She also belonged to the Adams Central School PTA organization.
Viola was employed at the Berne Winner House, Walt's Super Dollar, Nass Foods, and Decatur G.E. Co.
Among survivors are three daughters, Edith (Neill) VonGunten of Winnipeg, Canada; Arlene Nicodemus, and Diane (J.Steven) Amstutz, both of Monroe; son, James (Janet) Dennison of Berne; 11 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
Preceding in death were sisters Rachel Inniger, Helen Schrock, Frieda Habegger, and Martha Mazelin; brothers, Martin, Sylvan, Milo, Daniel, Jacob, and Noah Habegger.
Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. on Saturday, March 2, at the Swiss Village Chapel, and from 1-2 p.m. on Sunday, March 3, at Cross Community Church.
Funeral services will be on Sunday, March 3 at 2 p.m., also at the church. Officiating will be Pastor Chris Kruchkow and Pastor Max Haines.
Burial will be in Mazelin Cemetery in rural Berne.
Preferred memorials are to the church or Family Life Care.
