Fame. On Monday evening, Stahly was recognized once again for that noteworthy achievement when Berne City Council presented him with a proclamation "for exemplary service ... and for accomplishments and contributions he has made" to the South Adams community. The proclamation was read by Councilman Ron Dull, who was played for Stahly during his baseball career at South Adams and who attended the recent hall of fame ceremonies in Indianapolis. Stahly has amassed 513 wins during his coaching career, with seven sectional titles, four regional crowns, and two semistate titles. His teams have won seven ACAC championships and two of his teams have made it to the IHSAA State Baseball Finals. The coach was humble and reserved in accepting his proclamation from city council. "Thank you very much. This is a huge award for me, but really it's a community award. Anyone who helped with South Adams baseball in any way is really responsible for this, but I really appreciate it," Stahly said. —J Swygart
