    ...Swiss Heritage Village Educational Day, for fourth grade Indiana history students, set up five educational sections, each spanning 35 to 40 minutes. Within each section were 15 to 18 individual interest areas, according to Swiss Heritage Village Museum Executive Director Gretchen Lehman. Pictured here are students shelling corn the old-fashioned way. The entire ear of corn, including the husk, is placed into the top of the machine. Turning the handle of the machine shaves the kernels into a bucket underneath, and the husk and core are spit out into a bucket in front of the machine. (Photo by Kristin Baron)
