On Monday, August 4, the community of Monroe will have a physician they can call their own as the office of Monroe Family Medicine will open at 205 Tower Drive in Monroe’s Industrial Park, with Dr. Nicholas Nussbaum opening his practice specializing in family medicine.
Nussbaum will be an employee of the Adams Health Network and at Wednesday night’s meeting of the AHN board of trustees, executive director Marvin L. Baird updated members on the progress of Nussbaum’s office which is currently under construction but should be ready by the anticipate opening date.
“He’s (Nussbaum) going to be a great addition to the community,” Baird praised, adding the hospital has been receiving daily calls from patients wishing to schedule appointments with the newest Adams County family practitioner.
Baird said the hospital will soon have a receptionist available to schedule those appointments and information will be sent to the patients so forms can be filled out in advance of their appointment.
Nussbaum is a native of Berne, graduated from South Adams and attended schools in Indiana (undergraduate work at Wabash College where he also played football) and the Indiana University School of Medicine.
An open house has been scheduled for Saturday, August 2 from 2-5 p.m. for the community to visit with Dr. Nussbaum at his office which is being constructed and equipped by the hospital. Landscaping and paving should be finished soon and interior work at the office should be complete within two weeks.
Fliers and other information about Monroe Family Medicine will be available at the upcoming Adams County 4-H Fair next week.
