Larry Schwartz was in critical condition in the intensive care unit, according to a hospital representative.
Walter Schwartz was listed in fair condition today. Edwin Schwartz, the driver of the buggy, has been released.
A fourth rural Monroe child who was in the buggy, Arlene Schwartz, was treated at Adams Memorial Hospital and released on Tuesday.
The accident occurred around 10:15 a.m. when, according to the sheriff’s department, a van driven by Jonathan D. Stutzman, 35, Berne, was passing the buggy driven by Edwin Schwartz of rural Monroe.
As the van began to pass, the horse and buggy turned left toward a driveway and entered the path of the van, causing the collision, the department’s report said.
The children were all thrown from the buggy.
