Vets get open invitation

August 22, 2013

Special accommodations are being made for World War II and Korean War veterans planning to attend Saturday's rededication of the Peace Monument.
The event is scheduled to start at 2:30 p.m. and Third St. will be closed to traffic from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Dave Meyer, a member of the Peace Monument restoration committee, said WW II and Korean War vets should park in the superior court lot off Third St. (across Third St. from the courthouse) or the Service Complex parking lot.
Golf carts will transport veterans using the Service Complex lot to the monument site.
Those using those the superior court parking lot will have to enter from Fourth, Madison or Adams streets using alleys since Third St. will be closed to traffic.
