Bellmont High School honored military veterans Monday as a part of an inaugural  memorial ceremony for Veterans Day.
Vince Faurote, a student at Bellmont High School, welcomed some 20 local veterans and their families and spoke about the historical importance of Veterans Day and why it is held on Nov.11.
“World War I concluded on the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month (November) in 1918. Exactly one year later,  President Woodrow Wilson declared Nov. 11 to be Armistice Day in honor of peace,” Faurote said.
