Vaccines to be given here

December 23, 2010

The Adams County Health Department has announced that teams from the immunization program of the Indiana Department of Health will be at the health office in Room 320 of the Adams County Service Complex in Decatur next Tuesday  to give required vaccine shots to students who will be in the sixth grade in the 2011-12 school year.
The vaccines will be given free of charge from 10:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m.
No appointments are necessary, but each student who gets a shot must have a shot record card from the shot provider or from the student's school, the announcement said.
"Parents are urged not to wait until next August to schedule shots, as they may have trouble getting children into their providers' offices for shots before school starts," a department representative said.
Federal economic stimulus money was used to buy the vaccines for this statewide immunization program, the announcement noted.
