The the second time this week, thunder showers caused postponement of sectional play Wednesday afternoon.
Bellmont's Baseball Sectional was to have opened Wednesday with Wayne taking on Norwell. That game has been pushed off until today. Bellmont is slated to meet Maconaquah in the Friday, 5:30 p.m. game.
If rain hits again today, their would likely be added games on Monday, which is Memorial Day. Currently, only a 1 p.m. championship game is set for BHS Monday.
The Bluffton Girls Softball Sectional was delayed for the second time this week as Adams Central was to have taken on Bluffton. That game has been rescheduled for 4:30 p.m. today.
The Bishop Luers Baseball Sectional is set to start today with Adams Central taking on Bluffton. The rest of the tourney, including South Adams vs. Woodlan (10 a.m.), will take place on Monday at Indiana Tech Baseball Field.
Bellmont's softball team was to have taken on Maconaquah Wednesday, but that game was called off because of the deluge. That game will go at 5:15 p.m. today, weather permitting. Peru is slated to take on Wayne on Friday. The sectional championship date is yet to be determined, noted Norwell Athletic Director Eric Morgan.
The IHSAA noted recently that, because of graduation ceremonies, there will be no games played on Saturday. Further delays will push the sectionals into next week.
