Prison sentences were handed down amid a busy Friday before Judge Frederick A. Schurger.
Adams County Prosecutor Chris Harvey said Matthew C. Bodle, 30, Decatur, pleaded guilty to attempted rape and will be sentenced on Thursday of this week.
Meanwhile, Birdine Cole Sr., 47, Bluffton, pleaded guilty to theft and was sentenced to two years in prison.
Michael S. Bingham, 24, Decatur, pleaded guilty to nonsupport of a dependent child. He was sentenced to three years in prison, with all but 24 days suspended, and was released with time served.
Bingham was also given three years of probation, ordered to pay his child support, to reimburse Adams County the $1,465.02 it cost to extradite him, and to pay more than $8,300 in back child support.
Devin Martinez, 18, Berne, was sentenced for numerous crimes that he committed in Berne earlier this year, including burglary, seven counts of theft, battery, and possession of marijuana.
Martinez was sentenced to 11 years in prison, three of which he will serve in prison and eight years will be served on probation. As a condition of probation, he was ordered to pay $3,278.95 in restitution and undergo counseling for substance abuse and anger management.
John F. Peterson, 52, Decatur, was sentenced to three years in prison following his second conviction in less that two years of operating a vehicle after having his driver's license suspended for life.
Mary J. Smith, 19, Decatur, pleaded guilty to theft after taking a check belonging to her grandmother and cashing it without her grandmother's consent. Smith will be sentenced later this month.
