Three bridge projects make travel difficult

July 30, 2014

There are currently three different bridge projects under way throughout the county, Adams County Engineer and Highway Department Superintendent Tim Barkey told the Adams County Commissioners Monday at their regular weekly meeting.
    R. L. McCoy, Columbia City, has been working on widening the bridge on Winchester Road, between Canterbury Drive and Tigers Trail, with the improvements tentatively scheduled for completion by the end of August or the beginning of September, Barkey said. At the same time, Co-State Construction, Auburn, continues to work of the replacement of a culvert on C.R. 600W between C.R. 100 and 200N. Both projects are on schedule, Barkey stated.
Meanwhile, Piqua Road, between C.R. 100E and Monmouth Road, was closed Monday morning in anticipation of work to be performed by Co-State Construction to repair a bridge approach at Caffee Ditch. The company began work on the project Monday afternoon, and Barkey indicated the work should be completed within two weeks.
