Tax bills mailed ahead of schedule; going out today

    Adams County residents will be receiving their property tax bills this week. Adams County Treasurer Tom Krueckeberg informed county commissioners at their regular weekly meeting Monday the annual mailing would be made today.
    “I come bearing gifts,” Krueckeberg joked as he personally delivered the property tax statements to each of the three commissioners. The treasurer also had tax bills for Highway Department Superintendent Mark Mitchel to distribute to his employees. Ever frugal, Krueckeberg also quipped that the personal, hand-delivery would save the taxpayers of Adams County money in the price of postage.
