Tabitha Dee "Bike" Cline, 96, of Bryant, passed away at 10:55 p.m. on Sunday, August 18, 2013, at her residence.
Tabitha was born Thursday, November 30, Thanksgiving day, 1916, in Adams County, the daughter of the late John and Lucy (Decker) Teeter.
She graduated from Geneva High School, Class of 1934. She married Marion F. Cline on Thursday, November 21, Thanksgiving day,1940, in Geneva. Marion passed away September 25, 1997.
Tabitha had worked at Winner House in Berne and Jay Garment in Portland. Tabitha was a member of the Mary Penrose Wayne chapter D.A.R. She was also a member of the Jay County Historical Society and the Jay County Hospital Auxiliary.
Tabitha was a homemaker and farmed with her husband most of her life. She had attended the Former Sardinia Congregational Christian Church of Bryant.
Among survivors are two daughters, Jackie (Paul) Sanders and Jeanie Lantz, both of Fort Wayne; granddaughter, Norma (Mathew) Sanders-Rody of Fort Wayne; two great-grandchildren, Kristofer (fiancee Stephanie Hobbs) Sanders and Amethyst (fiancee Ryan Johnson) Sanders, both of Fort Wayne; four stepgreat-grandchildren, Brendan, Geran, Landon and Isabella Rody; stepgreat-great-granddaughter, Kenzee Rody; and several nieces and nephews.
Tabitha was preceded in death by two sisters, Violet Timmons and Jackie Mere; and a son-in-law, Rod Lantz.
Family and friends may gather to share and remember at Downing & Glancy Funeral Home Wednesday, August 21, from 4-8 p.m. and Thursday, August 22, from 10-11 a.m. prior to the service.
A service to celebrate Tabitha's life will be held at Downing & Glancy Funeral Home at 11 a.m. Thursday, August 22.
Burial will follow in the Gravel Hill Cemetery in Bryant.
Preferred memorials are to Jay County Historical Society.
