Swiss Days opening as fair is closing

July 25, 2013

As one festival winds down another one opens up in Adams County.
The final event of the Adams County 4-H fair, the livestock auction, is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m. today at the fairgrounds in Monroe, then two hours later and just a few miles south, opening ceremonies will be held to kick off this year's edition of Swiss Days.
Actually, things get going in Berne at 5 p.m. as craft and food vendors will open their stands. Amusement rides in the E. Main St. parking lot will be in operation from 6 to 10 p.m. today.
Further details and a schedule of events are in today's print and e-editions.
