Author Geneva (Gene) Stratton-Porter likely would have felt back at home in southern Adams County on Friday evening as local residents and visitors alike celebrated the native Hoosier's 150th birthday.
An event dubbed Geneva’s Geneva was held at the Limberlost State Historic Site in the town that bears her name to celebrate the life and legacy of the author, naturalist, photographer and movie producer who for 25 years called the town of Geneva her home.
Those in attendance, some of whom came dressed in clothing reflective of the late 1800s during which Stratton-Porter lived in Geneva, had the opportunity to sample a variety of wines from Indiana wineries, participate in parlor games popular during the late Victorian era and enjoy live performances of period music.
