Stephen C. Omlor

    Stephen C. “Steve” Omlor, 70, of Decatur, passed away on Sunday, October 14, 2012, at Lutheran Hospital.
    He was born in Adams County on February 13, 1942, to the late Charles A. Omlor and M. Leona (Folck) Lose.
    Steve married Paula L. Kahn on January 17, 1976.
    He was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Msgr. J.J. Semeitz Council 864, where he served as Past Grand Knight.
    He served as Past Faithful Navigator of the 4th Degree Assembly, and was a member of the Moose Lodge 1311. He belonged to the 1960 St. Joe luncheon group. He retired from International Harvester and General Motors, and served in the National Guard.
    Among survivors are his wife of 36 years, Paula (Kahn) Omlor of Decatur; three sons, Scott M. Omlor of Indianapolis, Charley (Sarah) Omlor and Joe P. Omlor, both of Decatur; a daughter, Tori (Josh) Emrah of Ossian; a brother, Richard (Katie) Omlor of Fort Wayne; a sister, Anne Shoaf of Fort Wayne; and six grandchildren, Keaton, Alyson, Kaleb, Hayden, Sophia, and Corbynn.
    He was preceded in death by his stepfather, Bill Lose.
    Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Wednesday, October 17, at Haggard-Sefton & Hirschy Funeral Home, with a reciting of the Holy Rosary at 3:30 p.m. The K of C 4th Degree Honor Guard will stand guard from 6-8 p.m.
    A mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, October 18, at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church, with visitation one hour prior to the service at St. Mary’s Parish Hall. Father David Voors will be presiding.
    Burial will take place in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
    Preferred memorials are to Masses, St. Mary’s Building On Our Heritage, and Gibault Home.
