Stephen C. Barker

    Stephen C. Barker, 68, of Decatur, died March 7, 2013, at Lutheran Hospital.
    Steve was born in Decatur on September 16, 1944, to the late Chet and Anna L. (Railing) Barker.
    On September 19, 1964, he married Kathryn L. "Kaki" Faurote; she survives.
    Steve was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church. He owned Barker and Sons Wrecker Service since 1965. He was a former member and director of Tri State Gas and Engine Association.
    Among survivors are three sons, Jim (Tina) Barker, Jeff (Julie) Barker, and Tom (Michelle) Barker, all of Decatur; two daughters, Leslie (Mark) Cook and Amy (Doug) Breauchy, both of Decatur; sister, Joan (John) King of Rockford, Ohio; and grandchildren, Kelsey, Kristen, Kylie, Cole, Oliver, and Isaac Barker, Keri and D.J. Breauchy, Abbey (Jordon) Eicher, and Katlyn, Madison, Alex, and Makenzie Cook.
    Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. Monday, March 11, at Haggard-Sefton & Hirschy Funeral Home. Reciting of the Holy Rosary will be at 1:30 p.m. Visitation will also be from 10-11 a.m. Tuesday, March 12, at St. Mary’s Parish Hall
    There will be a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church. Officiating will be Father David Voors and Deacon Jerry Kohrman.
    Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
    Preferred memorials are to St. Mary’s Building on Our Heritage and Erin’s House for Grieving Children in Fort Wayne.
