Ideas flowed freely — some of them possibly feasible, others likely less so — during a Decatur town hall-type meeting held Tuesday evening. The purpose of the meeting, initiated by the Decatur Long Term Advisory Committee, was to narrow the scope of the city’s expected application for a Stellar Commnunities grant intended to enhance the downtown business district and adjoining St. Marys riverfront causeway.
Some three dozen civic leaders, business owners and interested citizens attended the meeting at Riverside Center. In a departure from the format at previous town hall events, those in attendance were broken into small clusters for roundtable discussions to exchange ideas in an informal setting.
