Steelworkers set for Clemente Tourney

    The United Steelworkers will open the H.E.B.A. Clemente tourney tonight versus the F.O.P. Cardinals at 6 p.m. at Monmouth. The winner will play top seed Bleeke Electric on Friday at 6 p.m. at Monmouth. The V.F.W. Orioles will meet Murphy USA in the second game at 7:15 at Monmouth Friday.
    In Decatur games, slated for Field 4, Haggard, Sefton and Hirschy will meet SportForm at 6 p.m. Friday in a rematch of their extra-inning affair from Wednesday, and the Grover Co. Indians will meet Adams Memorial Hospital in the 7:15 p.m. game.
    The winners from Decatur will meet in the semi-finals Monday at 6 p.m. in Decatur while their will be one game at Monmouth. The final game is set for Wednesday, June 29, at 6 p.m. at Rube Wynn Field.
    In the United Steelworkers 17-14 Clemente win over SportForm Tuesday, three players — Joe Ainsworth, Guy Lister and Bryce Roop, all slammed four hits in the slugfest.
    Ethan Poling, Lucas Moser and Joe Buckner all had 3 hits for the winners. Chase Miller (double) and James Voglewede both had 2 hits. Ainsworth doubled.
Sportform 9, Haggard 8
     Tanner Hirn had a big night, going 3-for-4 with two doubles and a home run, and he also delivered the game winning RBI in extra innings as SportForm downed Haggard, Sefton and Hirschy 9-8 Wednesday at Rube Wynn Field.
    Evan Coil, Timmy Girod, and Brayden Moellering were all went 3-for-4 with Moellering hitting two doubles and scoring twice and Girod scored twice with two RBI for SportForm. Preston Siefring and Ben Razo also recorded three hits in the win.
