South Adams opened their volleyball season at home last night with a contest against the Blackford Lady Bruins that ended in a four set win for the visitors spoiling new head coach Amie Sprunger's first match.
After losing the first set, 25-21, the Stars let set two fall away without a fight, 25-12. Coach Sprunger rallied the troops and SA came alive taking the third set, 25-16, then fell, 29-27 in extra volleyball during the fourth set.

Sophomore Cady Farlow led the team with six kills on the night as well as nine assists, while junior Alyssa Bluhm had seven assists and three service aces. Sophomore Lauren Smith also chipped in with a pair of kills for SA.
