Starfires shine in tri-meet sweep of Jets, Railroaders

    For the girls, SA won just five of the 15 events but managed to earn enough points for the victory with 62, while Garrett was just behind at 51 points and AC finished third with 43.
    The Railroaders were winners of two of the three relays but the Stars won the 3200 Relay behind the strength of Kristen Muselman, Aleesha Goodwin, Lily Shane, and Katelyn Hawbaker who finished with a time of 11:57.6.
    Briona Case finished first in three events including the 100 Dash at 14.1 with SA's Alli Amstutz just behind at 14.49. Case also won the Long Jump leaping for 15'9 3/4" and the 200 Dash at 29.19.
    McKenna Macklin finished first in the 100 Low Hurdles with a time of 18.06 ahead of her teammate Erica Bluhm who was second at 18.13. Summer Harvey was first place in the High Jump reaching 5'1" with Muselman just behind for the Stars at 4'8" and Erica Bluhm finished first in the 300 Low Hurdles with a time of 53.9.
    Muselman was first place in the 800 Run at 2:42, Aleesha Goodwin was first in the 3200 Run at 13:24.4, while Hannah Mitchel won the Shot Put (35'1/4") as well as the Discus at 100'0" just ahead of her sister who placed second in both events for SA.
    The Stars and Jets next face the track in the Southwood Invitational on Friday night. beginning at 5 p.m.
