Starfire tankers sweep past Jets

    The South Adams boys won all 12 blue ribbons in a 130-55 win at Adams Central Tuesday, while the SA girls made it a sweep, winning eight of 12, in a 107-78 victory over the Lady Jets.
    Caleb Wurster won the 200 IM and the 500 free, and Cole Farlow took the 100 and 50 freestyle events, and both were on a pair of winning relay teams to lead the victory.
    Wurster went 2:21.07 to key a sweep in the IM as Joel Schmidt was second and Jacob Werst third. Wurster beat teammate Cory Sank by 34 seconds to win the 500 in n5:48.38. Jacob Weil took third for the Jets.
    Farlow won the 50 free in 24.77, beating the 25.08 of AC's Ellison Kaehr. Dom Richert took third for SA. He added a 56.92 to beat Kaehr in the 100 free, with Richert a close third.
    Josh Armenta took the diving with a 142.6 to the 139.75 of teammate Lance Hummer. Tyler Sipe was third for AC.
    Josh Dynes went 2:15.52 in the 200 free for that win with Cory Sank second. Brey Reidenbach went 2:28 for third.
    Jacob Werst went 1:08.35 to win the 100 yard butterfly for the Stars. Johnny Everidge earned second and Dynes was third.
    Joel Schmidt reeled off a 1:10.31 to win the 100 backstroke, easily beating Weil of AC. Jim Everett took third for the Jets in 1:17.32.  Mitchel Kaverman won the 100 breaststroke in 1:14.85 for the Stars, taking Dylan Krueger of Adams Central.
    Schmidt and Werst joined Farlow and Wurster in the 200 medley relay win in 1:54.23.
    Richert and Werst were on the 400 free relay team, which put up a 4:09.49, along with Farlow and Wurster. Schmidt, Derek Schwartz, Everidge and Richert were on the winning 200 free relay team, which swam a 1:44.6.
    
Waugh, DeLong Lead SA Girls
    Erika Waugh took the 200 and 500 freestyle events, while Kara DeLong won the 100 free and 100 backstroke to lead the SA girls to victory.
    Ali McClain was a double winner for the Adams Central girls, taking the 100 butterfly in 1:07.68 and the 50 free in 27.22.
    The Jets' 200 yard free relay team of Whittney Landis, Sydnee Reinhard, Yuleeza McCullough and McClain took that win in 1:59.21. Landis added the 100 yard breaststroke win for the Jets in 1:18.27 to beat out SA's Michaela Rupp.
    Waugh went 2:07.21 in the 200 and added a 5:39.22 to win the 400 over teammate Brooke Kirchhofer. McCullough was third for the Jets.
    DeLong went 1:03.88 in the 100, and added a 1:09.76 for an easy win over McCullough in the 100 back.
    Olivia Turner compiled 149.2 points to win the diving, six points ahead of Alisen Barger of AC.
    Alex Fox won the 200 IM for the Stars in 2:39.5.
    The Starfire team of Delong, Rupp, Fox and Waugh went 2:06 for the medley win. The same foursome went 4:58 in the 400 free relay for victory.
