Stabbing is probed by police

June 18, 2012

Decatur police are continuing their investigation into an alleged stabbing that occurred early Sunday morning.
Police were dispatched to the 200 block of N. 17th Street at 12:25 a.m. Sunday in regards to a battery situation with a possible stabbing, according to a department spokesman.
Upon arrival, police found a male patient suffering from what they said were "non-life threatening injuries." Paramedics were summoned and transported the patient to Adams Memorial Hospital, where, police said, the patient was admitted.
Police were not releasing the name or age of the patient today pending a continuation of the investigation. Hospital officials were unable to give a condition of the patient without the media providing them with a name.
No other details were made available.
