Various events, including the Sweet Chariots Car Show, are scheduled for Saturday, July 9, at St. Mark's United Methodist Church, US 224 West.
Organizers said approximately $3,000 was raised during last year's event and distributed to St. Mark's missions, such as St. Mark’s Food Pantry, Adams-Wells Crisis Shelter, Habitat for Humanity, Love INC. and the church's Red Bird Mission Team.
Among the days' activities, in addition to the car show, will be a Pinewood Derby, starting at 9 a.m. and continuing throughout the day; there will be a $1 admission for Derby spectators over the age of 12 (no fee for racers). Prizes will be awarded for three places in two categories: Boy Scout regulation cars and Outlaw (anything that does not harm the track).
