KINGSLAND— Bishop Dwenger outscored Columbia City 267-262 in the quest for first place at the Norwell Invitational Saturday kicking off the swimming season for the girls in Adams County.
Bellmont finished fourth with 215 behind third place Oak Hill (225), while Norwell finished fifth at 185, Bluffton was sixth at 131, and the Lady Jets were last with just 17 points.
The Squaws were led by Sarah Evans who had a first place finish in the 100 Breaststroke at 1:17.99, while also taking a silver medal in the 200 Individual Medley with a time of 2:33.43.
Rachel Klingensmith drew some points for Bellmont with two silver finishes including the 100 Free with a time of 58.05 just two seconds behind Dwenger's Erica Evans who won the event. Klingensmith was also second in the 50 Free also behind Evans finishing with a time of 26.22. Chloe Mock was fourth for Bellmont in the 500 Free finishing at 6:14.11.
The Squaws took second in the 200 Free Relay just .28 seconds behind first place Columbia City with a time of 1:50.51 led by Evans, Klingensmith, Reagan Burry, and Brittney Hartman. The Squaws took fourth in the 400 Relay at 4:13.38 behind Hartman, Mock, Mikayla Voglewede, and Mae Baczynski.
