FORT WAYNE—It was a typical triangular meet result for the Bellmont Squaws Tuesday night as they traveled to Carroll High School to match up with the host Chargers along with the Columbia City Eagles in a girls Northeast Hoosier Conference varsity track event.
The Squaws claimed their usual four first place finishes with both Holly Hankenson and Alexis Harvey dominating their events, while their 4 x 400 relay crew which has had a lot of success this year was just two seconds away from a blue ribbon.
Carroll easily swept the meet with 77.5 points while Columbia City posted 54 and Bellmont recorded 34.5.
The boys meet between the same three schools was slated to have been run at Bob Worthman Stadium but stormy conditions forced the postponement of that event.
"We were glad to be able to get our meet in especially since our meet Saturday (the John Reed Relays at East Noble) got knocked out because of the weather. I felt Alexis and Holly more than made their presence known and I think we continue to set ourselves up well for the tournaments yet to come this season," pointed out Bellmont coach Carl Risch.
