Squaws lock up NHC spike title

    Madison Schultz knocked down 11 kills in 19 attempts with only two errors, adding a solo block, a block-assist and three digs to lead Bellmont to a three-game sweep of Columbia City Thursday at the BHS court.
    The win clinched the NHC championship for the Squaws, who went unbeaten in league play for the fifth straight season.
    In six years under Craig Krull, the Squaws are now 41-1 in the NHC.
    Bellmont took the first game 25-10, roared to a 25-7 win in game two, and with Krull subbing freely the Squaws scored a 25-16 third game win.
    Bellmont is 24-4 overall. Columbia City finished 4-3 in the NHC.
    Alex Fuelling contributed 10 kills in 17 attempts, adding an amazing 11 aces as the Eagles could not handle her jump-serve. She had 5 digs and an assist.
    Payton Schultz added 7 kills in just 10 attempts with no errors for Bellmont. Emily Pierce had 2 kills in 4 tries with 3 aces and 3 digs. Holly Hankenson had 2 kills with a block-assist. Steph Shoup put in 2 kills to go with 30 assists and 3 digs.
    Gabbie Weaver had a kill and 3 digs while Bailee Hankenson recorded a kill. Libero Chelsea Colclasure had 5 aces and 11 digs.  Allison Gutierrez had 2 assists and 4 digs while Erin Hunter added a dig.
BHS Reserves Sweep
    Hailee Hormann recorded 8 kills and 8 digs as the BHS reserves rolled to a 25-20, 25-13 victory.
    Madie Stoppenhagen had 6 kills with 4 digs, 2 blocks and an assist. Audrey Schultz put down 5 kills with 2 digs and Natalie Busse scored 3 kills with 17 digs and 2 aces.
    Autumn Konkle had 22 assists with 11 digs, an ace and a kill while Devon Schultz added 6 digs and an ace. Carley Williams had 4 digs for the winners.

BHS Frosh Now 17-0
    The streak is now at 17 as the unbeaten Bellmont freshmen needed three games to subdue the Lady Eagles, 25-12, 22-25, and 15-8 on Thursday at BHS.
    Olivia Fuelling powered home 10 kills to go with 15 digs and 2 aces. Taylor Rhymer had 7 kills with 11 digs while Madison Glancy put down 6 kills.
    Jordan Gilbert had 21 assists and 3 aces to go with 3 digs and a kill. Jessah Okoniewski lifted 7 digs with an ace while Emily Smith had 5 digs, 4 aces and a help. Jordan Rumschlag had 2 kills with a dig while Madison Cook lifted 4 digs with an assist. Miranda Voglewede had 3 digs and Hayley Swaidner a kill.
    Bellmont will be at Wayne on Tuesday.
