Spc. Nicholas A. Taylor

    Spc Nicholas A. "Nick" Taylor, 20, of Berne, died on Monday, July 16, 2012, representing the Indiana National Guard in the country of Kandahar Providence, Afghanistan.    He was born on October 24, 1991, to Tim and Stephania (Montjoy) Taylor of Berne.
    Nick was a member of the First Missionary Church. He was a South Adams graduate who participated in football, track, and wrestling. He was a model student and exhibited a positive influence on everyone he was around. His future plans were to attend IPFW, majoring in Criminal Justice.
    Among survivors are his parents; brother, Drew Taylor; and sisters Holly Taylor and Sophia Taylor, all of Berne; grandparents, Wilbur and Linda Taylor of Berne, and Rosemary Scherrer of Berne and Larry Montjoy of Ceylon; and great-grandmother, Betty Scherrer of Geneva.
    Visitation will be on Monday, July 30, from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. and 2-8 p.m. at the South Adams High Sschool gymnasium.    
    Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, July 31, also at the high school, with Pastor Jim Schwartz and Pastor Max Haines officiating.
    Burial will be at the M.R.E. Cemetery, Berne, with full graveside military rites.
    Preferred memorials are to the Nick Taylor Care Package Fund.
