South Adams Trails, Inc. President Gary Habegger recently spoke at Berne’s Rotary meeting regarding updates to the SATI bike and walking trail project.
Habegger told the Rotarians the trails group recently learned that grant funding through the Indiana Department of Transportation had been approved, adding an additional $185,000 in grant money for continued upgrades to the trail and $415,000 for rehabilitation of the old railway bridge obtained from Bunge North America.
The additional $185,000 will go toward upgrading the parking area at the trailhead at Rainbow Lake in Geneva, Habegger said.
