South Adams is in the sectional finals this year marking their second appearance in a row. This year's group of Berne boys feels different than last year's version. They seem like they belong there this time.Take away the 0-5 start last season and you've got a South Adams football program that's won 16 of their last 18 games.

So what's different? Well those 19 juniors from last season's turnaround effort are now seasoned seniors salivating for redemption in the finals of sectionals.
The team looming in front of the Stars this Friday at home will be the Sheridan Blackhawks, a team that needs no introduction for fans familiar with 1A football in Indiana. The program has been around since 1899 and has a total of nine state championships in 11 appearances (including a three-peat in '05, '06, & '07).
Blackhawks coach Bud Wright won his 369th game in 47 years last week against Lapel to make him the coach with the most wins in Indiana high school football history. Wright also holds the record for state titles for a coach as he has been witness to all nine Sheridan championships, the latest coming in the 2007-08 season.
This Friday's contest should prove to be exceptionally entertaining as Sheridan sits at #6 in the state 1A polls, while SA has been solid at #4 for the last few weeks and have only gotten better.
