Dots in Blue Water, the student-led non-profit based out of South Adams High School, is planning on making a third trip to Haiti this summer to assist residents there.
So the students have announced plans for an upcoming "coffee shop" and auction to raise funds for the trip.
"We have had two successful trips to Haiti and have installed multiple water purification systems," student Samantha Schwartz said in making the announcement. "We are planning on making our third trip this summer to a new, more remote village. Fundraising is a big part of what we students have to do to make these trips successful. The more funds, the more people we are able to help."
The fundraiser will be held Friday, February 8, beginning at 6:30 p.m. A local band, Sweet Spot, will provide music along with the high school's jazz band, and different types of coffee and baked goods will be for sale.
The big-ticket item up for auction is a guitar signed by pop superstar Taylor Swift.
