The tribute to Dr. Wylie Sirk as he nears the end of his career as an educator was befitting the man himself: brief, direct, respectful and dignified.
The North Adams school board bid farewell to Sirk at the end of Tuesday night's board meeting in simple fashion, with a few kind words and a gift as a token of their appreciation for his years of service to the school board. A few former board members were on hand for the occasion as well.
And Decatur Mayor John Schultz was in attendance to present the retiring superintendent with the Key to the City.
