The Mizpah Shrine Circus performed during the recent weekend at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum in Fort Wayne, drawing in huge crowds — and a few protesters.
A dozen or so protesters stood outside the main entrance to the coliseum before Saturday’s 2 p.m. show. Members of the group held signs that voiced their animal activist opinions and thoughts on the treatment of animals used in the circus performance.
According to the group and their chants, their belief is that the circus  animals are treated cruelly and being held in captivity, which is not in the best interest of the animals.
