December 12 was Cops For Kids Day at the Walmart store in Decatur as some 30 children from around Adams County were each given $150 for Christmas shopping sprees conducted with uniformed police. Displaying some clothes for little Conner Heyne are his mother, Malisa Berkshire of Decatur, and Nathan Mihm, a sheriff's department deputy. After the shopping, everyone gathered at Riverside Center for a meal provided by Pizza Hut.
